Can anyone recommend an oldish computer RPG?
Something around 1999-2005 or so. PC, not online. Something I can pirate.
I've been jonesing for something with some good character customization and leveling elements, but I'm drawing a blank on games from that era.

Damn, I know it's a late reply but check out these games:
Nox (like diablo, very fun, simple customization though)
Arcanum (Fucking dope steampunk universe rpg, from the makers of Fallout)
Fallout 1/2 (Earlier than 1999 but worth a mention)
Planescape: Torment
Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines (Haven't played this but it has a hardcore dedicated fanbase, great reviews and, once again, made by Troika, it's next on my list)
Neverwinter Nights
World of Warcraft
I'd say try out Arcanum first if you've never tried it.
