My music collection is growing stale on me. I need some new blood infused. Notably in the metal department. My lack of pretty much any Testament is one area of concern. Also I know I like a lot of Anthrax here and there, but I've never really checked out any of their albums in their entirety other than "We've Come For You All". Are any worth picking up or would a greatest hits type thing be a better move?

Part of my issue with WCFYA was that I wasn't a huge fan of the vocals. I'd have to say I'm definitely more of a fan of their earlier stuff from what I've been exposed to though.
Anything as far as a Testament album to check out?

John Bush > Joey Belladonna
It's not that I don't like John Bush, it's just more that it seemed his vocals on that album drove the whole thing to have a different sound. It almost seemed like more of a rock album than that of a thrash metal band and I thought at a fair few times made it sounded more studio based and less organic as a result.
Bar the really heavy songs on that album, I think "Safe Home" is about the only song I consistantly enjoy. Then again, I haven't given the full thing a listen in a while.

I suggest you check out The Greater Of Two Evils then. It's old stuff, so it's definitely thrashy. Plus it was recorded live (but at studio quality) in front of 100 dedicated fans.

Testament:
The Legacy
The New Order
The Ritual
The Gathering
Low
if you want to explore beyond that, get anything else, with Demonic being the last one you get
Armored Saint recs:
Anything this band ever put out (seriously). This band didn't put out anything remotely bad (but I haven't heard Delirious Nomad yet).
Start with Raising Fear. If you dig that, Get Symbol of Salvation, March of the Saint, Revelation and then La Raza
